Mary McIntyre FRAS - Astrophotography Without a Telescope

On Thursday November 7th at 7.15 for a 7.30pm start, our guest speaker, Mary McIntyre FRAS will be presenting "Astrophotography Without a Telescope".

Visitors are most welcome - fee for the evening just £5. You can purchase tickets online at www.ticketsource.co.uk/newbury-photography-club

There are many misconceptions that you can only photograph astronomical objects if you have a telescope but this is just not true. There are a huge variety of things you can photograph with just a budget camera and lenses, so this talk takes you through a wide selection of things to photograph at different focal lengths. It covers the Milky Way, conjunctions, meteor showers, aurora, the Moon and much more.

Mary is an Oxfordshire based amateur astronomer and astrophotographer who has had a life-long interest in Astronomy. "Most clear nights I’m out with at least one camera, whether  attached to a telescope or just on a tripod. I’ve recently enjoyed photographing many aurora displays and every day I’m looking for interesting cloud formations or interesting  aircraft."

In March 2018 she was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society. She a member of the British Astronomical Association and is on the council of the Society for Popular Astronomy.

A PDF summary guide will be sent to you after the talk.

There are a number of tickets available to non-club members. Come and join us at The Phoenix Centre, 212 Newtown Rd, Newbury RG14 7EB. There is plenty of free parking available.
