Group 2, Round 2 competition welcomed back Keith Newton as the judge for the evening.

Keith gave very informative and helpful critiques of all the Print and PDI images produced by our group 2 - up and coming photographers.
The PDI theme of Mood or Emotion was a particularly challenging theme and was well interpreted by both the entrants and by Keith.

Well done to everyone

Thursday 21st November at 7.15 pm (for 7.30 pm start).

Author of 14 books, Tony Worobiec studied fine art at The University of Newcastle upon Tyne and spent 18 years as head of a large design faculty in Dorset. He has won awards for photography in the UK and internationally, and has had work exhibited in London’s Barbican Gallery, Bradford’s National Museum of Photography, The Menier Gallery London and The Fox Talbot Museum Lacock. He is a founder member and until recently chairman of the prestigious Arena Group of Photographers. Members will remember the excellent "Fragments of an American Dream" presentation a couple of seasons ago.

This evening’s event is a workshop style presentation that examines the many compositional strategies used by both artists and photographers. The rule of thirds is positively “kicked into touch”.

It was with great pleasure that the club welcomed Eddy Lane to judge our three Speciality Print Competitions.

Eddy has travelled extensively photographing Wildlife, People and Landscapes. A busy PAGB Judge, he is a Past President of the Western Counties Photographic Federation and remains active on the WCPF Executive and the Judges Panel, where he helps mentor and train new judges.

A member of Wiltshire Club “Nonpareil”, his portfolio includes Sport and Audio-Visual in addition to his passion for the Natural World. A lover of prints and contributor to Salons, RPS and PAGB events, he promotes print competitions and exhibitions in the many clubs and other organisations that he visits every year.

His travels with his wife Pam have given Eddy material for the many Talks he gives around the UK and Overseas. These include the Antarctic, the Arctic, India, Kenya and Namibia. Adventures to Galapagos, Costa Rica, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Cambodia and the South Seas have also provided Eddy with a detailed knowledge of photography from all around the World.
